XFX GeForce 6200 Review y prueba en juegos.

Tv : Cuanta nostalgia!
Corria juegos tan modernos como fallout 3, oblivion, need for speed carbon, call of duty 4, Los Sims 3, empire earth 2, half life 2, left for dead 2, resident evil 4, prey, hitman 1 y 2, stalker 1, FIFA 09, GTA san andreas, doom 3, quake 4, warcraft 3, halo 1 y 2, etc.

How usable is this 16-year-old GPU? - A review of the Nvidia GeForce 6200 LE

In today's video, I'll be testing a 16-year-old GPU, the Nvidia GeForce 6200 LE. This GPU, released in April of 2005, is one of the lowest end Nvidia GPUs that can be fitted into a modern pc. With only 64MB of DDR VRAM, can this GPU even run games?

In den Keller AG : I cant belive that i am 0.75% of the community
MUSTASHEO lll : Also the driver crashes on these older GPUs were common if they ran Vista or newer.
chowlee : Bought a pre-build back in 2005 and it came with this gpu, eventually getting into a bit more gaming i remember the thing could barely ran battlefield 2 on low. Upgraded to a 8800GT later on and what a fkn card that was
jimjamz : I have a retail boxed XFX 6200 LE, but my specs are a bit different to yours:
- GPU clock: 300MHz
- Memory: 128MB DDR2
- Memory clock: 266MHz
- Bus width: 64-bit
- Pixel shaders: 4 (2 Pixel / 2 Vertex)
- TMUs: 4
- ROPs: 4
- AGP 8X only

I also have a retail boxed XFX 6200 (non-LE) 256MB DDR2 AGP4X/8X, which I'm yet to test.
It seems even the LE models alone, vary wildly.
MUSTASHEO lll : Since it’s WDDM 1.0, does that mean Vista/7 display drivers will run 8.1 and 10 just fine? I had a 2007 computer way back when and it ran windows 10 almost as fast as a new computer and the animations were smooth just like a new pc. It was Intel chipset 945 something like that.

davkdavk : Phil, love ya shit :) love the era of PC gaming you cover.
PixelPipes : Hmm this subject appeals to me.
Tobias Carlsson : I used the Geforce 6200 AGP on a Sempron 1,6GHz (754) playing World of Warcraft back in 2006. Great value for such a low budget system. Still use it for Windows XP retro gaming. :)
Nitrax : The reason why the GeForce 6200 PCI performed so well in certain titles is because the GeForce FX series was very slow with Shader Model 2.0 and DirectX 9 titles due to only being optimised for 16-bit shader code. The ~40% difference in 3DMark 03 shows this well, as do the Far Cry results. This is also why Half-Life 2 defaults to a DirectX 8.1 mode on the FX series, it improved performance greatly.
robochao1 : I absolutely love the PCI 6200, mine is a 512MB variant with plenty of eccentricities. It's said to be one of the last PCI cards before all manufacturers shifted focus to PCIe. I use it in my Dell Dimension 3000. It's my leisure computer that I don't do anything important on, but it actually saved my ass a couple of times.

The PCI cards manufactured beyond this point (Zotac GT610/GT430, Jaton 9400GT PCI, Sparkle 8400, Visiontek Radeon HD 3450 are simply display adapters for low end users looking to upgrade to Vista and 7. If you pick up these cards remember to keep your expectations grounded.
